Description: Students who enter the program at Stage 1 will have access to Stages 1, 2 and 3. Stage 1 is designed for beginner students who are just starting the process of preparing for FM or for students who wish to re-learn the fundamentals and start the exam preparation process from its initial point. At Stage 1, students will be taught the required elementary FM topics and its core concepts as it relates to preparing for Exam FM. Instructor Paul Johnson will lead students through these basic but very important topics at a gradual pace to make certain that students are building a solid foundational base. During Stage 1, we will start the rigorous but most critical process to begin mastering FM problem solving, with students being shown great strategies and techniques for solving exam problems related to the fundamental topics being taught and reviewed. Students can expect a great deal of personal support from Instructor Johnson throughout the critical Stage 1 period to ensure that they are fully grasping the material being presented and progressing at the pace necessary to be ready for Stage 2.
Stage 2 – Appropriate for exam takers to enter who have some understanding of FM material but desire a review of the more challenging topics along with related problem solving.

Description: Students who enter at Stage 2 will have access to Stages 2-3. Stage 2 is a continuation of Stage 1 but focused on the more challenging FM required syllabus topics. Stage 2 is the perfect stage to enter for those students who can demonstrate sufficient knowledge of basic core concepts tested on the exam but will benefit from a review of more difficult topics and the related exam type problems that many exam-takers struggle with. Whether you recently began prepping for FM, have used other study resources, or sat for FM previously but did not pass, Stage 2 will bring you up to speed quickly on these challenging FM syllabus topics. Additionally, during Stage 2, we will review common mistakes and errors made by many exam takers that need to be avoided to pass FM and also share important tips and tricks to be effective and efficient during the actual exam sitting.
Stage 3 – Appropriate for exam takers to enter who have possess a solid grasp of the FM material but need to get exam-ready through intensive practice, problem solving, and exam strategy.

Description: Stage 3 is an intensive problem solving/exam strategy bootcamp and an absolute must for any student sitting for FM. This program stage offers the ultimate final exam preparation resource for students who have mastered the core and advanced syllabus material and are now ready for a 4 week ‘pedal to the metal’ bootcamp to maximize problem solving skills prior to the exam sitting. Stage 3 includes intensive practice sessions with instructional support & feedback, live through Zoom. Using exam problems from GOAL and previously released SOA exams as the basis for the bootcamp, Stage 3 will provide students with learning invaluable strategies, methods, and shortcuts for attacking and solving problems the best ways, significantly advancing problem solving skills, reaching a masters level of problem solving proficiency necessary to pass FM.

About the Instructor:
Paul Johnson, ASA, MS has accumulated over 12 years of professional experience as an actuary. He is a respected specialist in preparing students for Exam FM, possessing great enthusiasm for helping students achieve passing exam scores. He has also received superior ratings while teaching numerous mathematics courses at the university level. Mr. Johnson was elected President of the Arizona Actuarial Club in 2017 and founded the popular podcast series Actuarial Toolkit. He received his MS in Statistics from Northern Arizona University and BS in Mathematics from Gonzaga University.
